Third UK-Latin America Workshop: Advanced Light Collection Systems
We have the pleasure to invite you to the “Third UK-Latin America Workshop on Advanced Light Collection Systems”, which will take place at UNICAMP, in Campinas, Brazil on the 20th and 21 of December 2018.
The workshop will consist of a day with lectures/talks and hands-on practice sessions, in which we will cover methods of simulating scintillation light, both using the LArSoft software package as well as using standalone Geant4, and a second day devoted to presentations and discussion in the recent developments of the light collection systems and their applications in DUNE. The detailed agenda will be available soon on its Indico page:
We will be updating the indico page with organizational details as well. We will provide a zoom connection and instructions on how to set up your machines should you want to follow the programme remotely.
We have limited travel support for flights and accommodations and we would like to start establishing the list of participants as soon as possible, so we would like to ask the institutions interested in sending one or two people to attend the meeting in person, toreply to this email with the following information, no later than the 30th of November.
- Name: e.g. Andrzej Szelc
- Institution: e.g. University of Manchester, UK
- Working on: e.g. developing simulations and light enchancement methods, DUNE, SBND and
- Specific interest on the workshop (optional): e.g. learn how to simulate light events in LArSoft.
- Estimated flight cost from institution to workshop location (if you want to apply for travel support): e.g. USD 500
Students attending the SBF-APS São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Experimental Neutrino Physics that would like to attend this workshop as well should get in touch with us, in order to determine the best way to proceed.
Please let us know if you have any questions, the UK and local organisers of this workshop (all CC'ed in this email) will be happy to try to answer them.
