The 2nd Bioforphys conference will be focused on the most general aspects of evolution from the perspective of physics. In particular, we aim to set up a wide-open interdisciplinary forum of researchers to discuss ideas regarding how our current knowledge of physics can contribute to understanding evolution in biology, from ancestral chemistry to molecular, cellular, and organismic entities.&nbsp; Evolution stands out as one of the current most exciting research topics with broad implications in all modern sciences, from Darwinism in biology to evolutionary diseases and pandemics, passing through the most varied spectrum of fundamental problems in physics and mathematics. We expect to organize a fantastic interdisciplinary and inspiring conference with the most relevant topics and wonderful speakers in the area. We expect to see you all in Barcelona!!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference brings<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>prominent scientists (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biologyforphysics.org\/speakers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.biologyforphysics.org\/speakers<\/a><\/strong><strong>)<\/strong>(see also names list at the bottom of this email) who have been working over the past years&nbsp;on biological evolution and to whom physics is an everyday source of inspiration to understand biology better.The conference will debate questions such as:&nbsp;&nbsp;How can physics contribute to understanding evolution in biology? Are there hidden principles in biological evolution, or is evolution consequential by the physical and chemical forces we know? Instead, does natural evolution have the flavor of physical law, or is it just conditional for life to exist?&nbsp;<strong>The conference is a forum where recent scientific results are presented by our invitees but dressed in a way to convey to the audience a personal view on the aforementioned questions and to trigger discussion and reflection on them.<\/strong>&nbsp;The conference contents are organized under the umbrella of a few selected themes that all share the underlying playground of nonequilibrium physics at the core of biological evolution. Topics include&nbsp;<strong>physics, life, and information; statistical physics of biological landscapes and networks; molecular evolution, from nucleic acids to proteins; microbial and viral evolution to evolutionary ecology; multicellularity, growth, and development; proteomics, genetics, and cancer<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;among others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the invited talks, the conference will select a number of<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>oral contributions&nbsp;<\/strong>on the basis of<strong>scientific originality and interest<\/strong>, plus<strong>ample time devoted to poster exhibitions<\/strong>by participants and researchers to promote exchanges and interaction between them and our invited speakers.&nbsp;<strong>Three<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;prizes will be awarded to the best posters.<\/strong>The conference is a<strong>great opportunity for young researchers<\/strong>who want to have a<strong>broad overview of the current most relevant topics in&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>evolution&nbsp;<\/strong>that are reshaping our way to understand the physical and biological world.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All sessions will be plenary and on-site.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We can only accept up to 150 participants<\/strong>to this event and therefore<strong>we encourage you to register&nbsp;<\/strong>as soon as&nbsp;<strong>the
