The EMLG/JMLG (European/Japanese Molecular Liquids Group) is an interdisciplinary group covering the molecular aspects of liquids in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The European group was founded in 1981 and was joined by the Japanese group in 1996 as a sister organization to cooperate and coordinate activities in the field. JMLG became the international division of the Japan Association of Solution Chemistry (JASC) in 2005.

The Nucleus Physics of Active Matter (Chile) is organizing a conference and a school, covering different aspects on the Physics of Active Matter. The school is aimed at the graduate level, but we expect the participation of postdocs and young researchers as well. The school will have theoretical lectures and a hands-on workshop for students. As part of the activity of the SocioComplex network and with the support of COMSOTEC, the summer school sociocomplex will provide specific training on the new fast developing field of the study of sociotechnical systems addressed to Master and PhD students and to young postdocs.  In particular, the school will cover the following 4 main courses:

  • Urban Systems, by Elsa Arcaute, The Bartlett Center for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), University College London UCL, UK.
  • Computational Social Sciences, by Nicola Perra, Queen Mary University, UK.
  • Epidemic Modeling, by Eugenio Valdano, Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and Sorbonne Université, France.
