This is a first announcement of the conference “Statistical Mechanics for Complexity – A Celebration of the 80th Birthday of C. Tsallis” to be held at Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 6 to November 10, 2023. In this event we will have the pleasure to celebrate the 80th birthday of Constantino Tsallis, his many seminal contributions to statistical physics, particularly 35 years of his proposal of generalization of Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics grounded on the non-additive Sq entropy.
