As part of the activity of the SocioComplex network and with the support of COMSOTEC, the summer school sociocomplex will provide specific training on the new fast developing field of the study of sociotechnical systems addressed to Master and PhD students and to young postdocs. In particular, the school will cover the following 4 main courses:
- Experimental Economics, by Alberto Antonioni, Departamento de Matemáticas, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain.
- Urban Systems, by Elsa Arcaute, The Bartlett Center for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), University College London UCL, UK.
- Computational Social Sciences, by Nicola Perra, Queen Mary University, UK.
- Epidemic Modeling, by Eugenio Valdano, Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and Sorbonne Université, France.
Courses include one hour daily sessions in the mornings. The work language is English. The School will additionally comprise seminars and hands-on sessions in the afternoon. Participants are required to attend the full duration of the school and they are encouraged to present their research as a poster.
On this edition the school will be preceded on the previous week by the X GEFENOL Summer School on Statistical Physics of Complex Systems. It is possible to register to both schools with a small discount.
The number of participants is limited. Applications received by May 31 will be given priority. The call for applications will remain open until July 18 subject to availability.
